Version 0.20.0 · Released

A smoother, calmer start.

Released . Notes first prepared October 8, 2026.

VākJournal 0.20.0 is now available on the App Store. This update brings simpler setup, personal color themes, and clearer privacy choices.

Make it yours

Choose Ember, Dusk, Ink, or Moss. Each theme works in light and dark. Change it during setup or in Account > Colors.

Set up at your pace

Home cards let you choose a voice, color theme, and conversation style. Set a daily reminder and your name. Swipe through or skip.

A familiar welcome

Sign in with Apple to go straight to Home, greeted by your first name. Home now settles into place in one smooth step.

Keep it, or let it go

Say you are done with your first conversation. Then choose to save it as your first entry or let it go.

Your latest thought, close by

Your most recent entry sits at the top of Home. “Processing reflection” appears while a new entry is being written.

Insights when they are ready

Last Week’s Insights appears after you have a full week of entries. The chart uses your entries instead of filling gaps with guesses.

Privacy before your first conversation

Before your first signed-in conversation, a short note explains what is shared. Open “See all details” for more. The conversation starts only after you agree.

Voice bars around the orb

During a conversation, the voice bars now circle the orb.

Clearer in light and dark

The mood screen, sheets, and sign-in screen are easier to read in both light and dark.

Updated privacy policy

The policy explains first-name sharing with OpenAI and names Daily and ElevenLabs as voice-processing providers.
