About this way to journal
What AI providers receive
OpenAI receives conversation text, your first or display name, and context from earlier entries. It uses these to hold conversations and create entries and insights.
What happens to voice audio
Daily carries live audio and transcribes your speech. ElevenLabs turns companion replies into speech; those replies can include your name or conversation details. VākJournal keeps transcripts, not voice recordings after live processing. Provider retention is explained in the privacy policy.
Your controls
Before your first signed-in journal session, you can review the privacy details and choose whether to agree. You can change your name in Account. You can export or delete journal data from the app. Deleted information can remain temporarily in logs, storage systems, or backups as described in the privacy policy.
